Chocolates, Chocolates, Chocolates!

It's a tradition in the Evan's family that the sister-in-laws get together one Saturday in December and make chocolates. We spent about 8 hours making every kind of chocolate you could imagine. Homemade peanut butter cups, turtles, almond joys, caramels, peanut clusters, toffee, peanut brittle, divinity, chocolate covered pretzels dipped in caramel, white chocolate suckers, chocolate covered cherries...the list goes on. The funny thing is is the night before I got together with my Grandma and cousin and we made toffee and mint truffles. We have so much chocolate we don't even know what to do with it all. Good thing it makes a good neighbor gift :)

'Tis the Season!

I love Christmas time! Last night Mark and I set up our first Christmas tree. Considering the limited resources we had being poor, newly wed students, it turned out pretty good!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Viva Las Vegas

What a great week! Monday started off ditching school and heading out to Las Vegas earlier then planned.

We stopped off at the outlets in St George and got some Christmas shopping done and arrived in Las Vegas just in time for all the city lights to be on.

It was incredible how many lights were over the entire city! The drive was so fun visiting with Mark, and driving through the red rock canyons.

We spent the next two days walking the strip in Las Vegas, of course stopping at the Coca Cola and M&M stores...

...visiting the lions at the Lion Habitat at MGM Grand...

...and walking through the gorgeous Bellagio and enjoying their fountain show and gardens.

We had lunch at the restaurant on top of the stratosphere (amazing view!)...

...saw "Blind Side" at the movie theater at our hotel (great movie by the way)...

...enjoyed the hot tub, relaxing by the pool and being together.

Thursday of course was Thanksgiving! We ate tons of yummy food and had fun catching up with my cousins til wee hours of the night :)

Friday Mark and I decided to brave the Black Friday sales and got some good deals! Later that day we had Thanksgiving with Evans.

Saturday was the awesome BYU vs. Utah game! Yay BYU!! :):)

WHAT A GREAT WEEK!

Wolf Creek Canyon

A couple weekends ago Mark's friend Tyler and his wife Amy invited us to spend the weekend at their parents timeshare up Ogden Canyon. I learned how to play racquetball, had fun freezing in the hot tub, watched movies, played card games, survived watching a Utah football game with all Ute fans at a sports bar where we had AMAZING pizza and took pictures of the surrounding lake and mountains. It was a fun little getaway weekend!

Halloween

I've never dressed up so much for Halloween in my life...

For work I tried to whip something up quick and found an old dance costume and was a maid.

For my work Halloween party I wanted to get a little more adventurous and was a witch.

Then, for the Evan's annual Halloween party I was a q-tip and Mark was ear wax. (beautiful I know :))

Finally, on actual Halloween we had some friends over and Mark was a nerd and I was a bully.

Honestly...that has to be some kind of record.

This was my first Evan's Halloween party and it was a blast. All of Mark's sibling's families dressed up and we each were in charge of a game. We had a fun dinner together and had a great time!

Everyone all dressed up...

Cali Convention

Last weekend for work my dad sent us assistants to California to an ibrace convention. We have been starting this awesome new type of braces that are on the backs of your teeth, and my dad is the only doctor in Utah doing them! We went to learn some more tips and tricks so we can all be pros with them :) Here's what they look like...

Also, of course, we had fun going to the mall, hot tubbing and relaxing together. It was a fun little trip.

The Deer Hunt

Yay! We love the deer hunt! The boys are gone and the girls get to play! This weekend Mark went up with the boys from my family to our cabin for the deer hunt. I stayed the weekend down at my parents house with my mom, Abbie and Brendan (he had soccer practice and game so he had to stay home with us girlies). While the men were gone we sewed away. Mom and I are making Christmas quilts for each other and I made some tablecloths for our obscurely shaped kitchen table. We worked hard and watched lots of movies, played cards, and laughed and talked. It was fun to be home again and just relax. Mark had a blast hiking the entire mountain with my cousin's husband Josh and was exhausted by the time he got home. Too bad he can't miss school and work to go this week.
